Cockroach Control
Not only are cockroaches unwanted house guests but they are resilient and versatile creatures that are able to quickly reproduce, have been found to carry diseases and bacteria, and can even chew through common household items. In addition to being excellent hiders, cockroaches are nocturnal creatures, so most people don’t even realise how bad the infestation is until you turn on a light in the middle of the night and catch them red-handed!
Signs of a hidden cockroach infestation may include droppings that appear as small, dark, “pepper-like” material left on counter tops or in drawers. You may also see faecal staining, which appears as dark spots or smears in the corners of rooms, along the tops of doors or around small cracks and openings into walls. When cockroach colonies become quite large, you may also smell a “musty” odour.
Most cockroach species have become immune to over-the-counter treatments and require a targeted, professional treatment with premium products in order to eliminate the infestation. Fortunately, our knowledgeable and experienced team is here to help you remove cockroaches from your home and provide helpful recommendations on how to prevent future infestations.
German Cockroaches
Noticeably smaller than their American cockroach counterparts, German cockroaches can be some of the toughest pests to treat. They love moisture and heat, seeing them commonly appear in commercial kitchens as well as household kitchens and toilets. German cockroach infestation may take several treatments to see success.
The Cocky Man’s tips for keeping cockroaches at bay:
• Food is an attractant; don’t leave open food or soiled dishes lying around in the kitchen.
• Ensure bins are sealed and emptied often.
• Where possible, seal any cracks or cervices that may be possible hiding places.
• Wash and dry pet food bowls as often as possible – cockroaches love leftovers!
• Vacuum regularly – the tiniest crumbs can attract cockies!
